Capturing the Moment

Capturing the Moment was started by Dr. Megan B. Nelson in 2017 with the goal of creating a space to support, nourish, and empower cancer patients by providing free professional photography sessions for them and their loved ones. Dr. Nelson started this project after recalling her own experience with cancer and how she wished she had more pictures to document her journey. The photos help “capture a moment” in patients’ lives and create a snapshot in time that patients and their families can cherish for years to come.

With the help of gracious volunteers – professional photographers, a growing planning committee, and volunteers to assist patients during the events – we have been able to ‘capture a moment’ in time for over 100 cancer patients and their loved ones. We capture smiles, tears, hugs, laughs, and many other memorable moments. Our goal is to continue to grow Capturing the Moment, so that we help more patients and their families have a visual reminder of their important stories, their strength, and their perseverance.

Sponsorship Levels

Survivor Sponsor – $5,000

• Large logo on participant t-shirts
• Signage as Survivor Sponsor throughout event venue
• Logo on all event promotion materials (ads, flyers, post-event “thank you”)
• Logo on golf carts
• Logo on social media and webpage
• Opportunity to set up a table at the event to welcome survivors and families, distribute information/gifts

Hope Sponsor – $2,500

• Logo on participant t-shirts
• Signage as Hope Sponsor throughout event venue
• Logo on all event promotion materials (ads, flyers, post-event “thank you”)

Encouragement Sponsor – $1,000

• Name on participant t-shirts
• Signage as Encouragement Sponsor in the social area at the event
